The useful starting point
Start with the load and the rider, then choose a reference to review. A product photograph or the word ‘backpack’ does not confirm usable capacity, fit or carrying comfort.
Compare the boot bag and backpack reference formats
The PoloSolo range includes BAG-01 as a combined boot-and-helmet starting reference, BAG-02 as the junior backpack reference and BAG-03 as the rider backpack reference. They support different brief discussions. Current internal dimensions, materials, carrying details and available options need confirmation for the specific style.
For a standalone tall boot bag, describe that requirement separately and ask which boot-only formats are currently available. Do not assume a reference with several compartments is also a confirmed standalone boot bag or that the larger-looking image has the greater usable capacity.

| Starting reference | Brief to explore | Confirm before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| BAG-01: boot & helmet bag | Carry boots and helmet in a combined arrangement | Equipment fit together, separation, opening and carrying points |
| BAG-02: junior backpack | A backpack brief for the intended junior rider | Rider proportions, proposed load, strap fit and access |
| BAG-03: rider backpack | A rider backpack brief with the required equipment layout | Contents, load arrangement, carrying fit and usable compartments |
Start with the equipment to carry
List the boots, helmet, clothing and small items your customer actually carries. Mark which items need separation and which need quick access. Measure the representative equipment, including the tallest boot pair and helmet configuration the range must accommodate. Identify whether riders bring all those items at once or use the bag for a smaller everyday load.
For a combined format, check the complete loaded bag with every compartment closed. For a backpack, review where the contents sit and how the openings can be reached in the intended use. Ask for the internal space and opening dimensions. These questions narrow the choice more effectively than a generic request for a ‘large riding bag’.
Match the format to the rider and use
For a riding club, identify the common carrying task before selecting a shared style. If junior members and adults have different loads or fit needs, show two requirements rather than selecting one solely to keep the logo consistent. Agree who will review the physical sample and how feedback will be consolidated.
For a tack shop, organise the comparison around customer questions: do they need a boot-and-helmet combination, a junior backpack or another rider layout? Define the customer and display story for each proposed reference. A smaller, clearly explained assortment can be easier to evaluate than several formats whose differences are not documented; the final range choice should use your customer evidence.
Use a format-selection checklist for the first order
Shortlist the reference that addresses the main use case, then write the unresolved questions beside it. Review carrying points, openings, seams and the intended load in the sample. If you want custom equestrian bag branding, add the marked logo panel and finished dimensions only after the format is clear. A crest cannot resolve an equipment-fit problem.
Send the selected reference with the equipment list, rider group, estimated units by colour and delivery country. If two formats are still being compared, request separate proposals. Minimum quantities, customisation methods, sample costs and timing are confirmed through the manual quote and specification process. Use the bag sourcing checklist for the complete brief once the format is chosen.
