LIS to Lisbon: arriving alone

For most daytime and evening arrivals, take the airport Metro toward Saldanha and connect onward. After the airport station closes at 01:00, use a licensed taxi or app-booked TVDE ride from the official pickup area.

After 22:00

Use the Metro when your immigration, baggage and transfer margin comfortably fit before 01:00. Choose a licensed door-to-door ride for heavy luggage, a steep final walk or a tight closing-time margin.

Use the official taxi rank or an app-booked TVDE ride. Lisbon Airport says taxis are always available and places the TVDE pickup zone in P2, Floor 2, arrivals level. Never accept a terminal approach.

Make the arrival decision before you leave the terminal

  • Check live Metro service notices on arrival; strikes and temporary closures can override normal hours.
  • Match your exit station to the exact accommodation entrance, not just the neighborhood name.
  • If using a taxi, confirm the meter is on and request a receipt.
  • Save the address offline before leaving the terminal.

LIS arrival decision

06:30–01:00: Metro is usually the simplest solo option. Tight margin, heavy luggage or steep final walk: licensed taxi/TVDE. After 01:00: licensed taxi or TVDE only; reject unsolicited approaches.
